Real R&R

Work, work, work, drink and work again. It's been a while since I had real R&R (Rest and Recreation). My last break was when I went to Samal with my wife, baby and barkada. Luckily, Melissa our bday girl decided to have a third episode of her week-long birthday celebration.

Waterworld was the first plan, but we decided to go to Seagull for "tamad" reasons. As far as i know, no one had regrets our last minute decision. We had fun on the beach. We got to bum around and drink our cold beer on the sands of Seagull. This is the life, escape from boredom and work, beer and sand all over!

PS. di tinuod nang mga pictures. scandalous tendencies took over after some beer and somersault swimming.

Atik lang ni!

Hmmm....

Dark Rain

It started out as a clear and sunny day. A good day to plan for a night out to greet Halloween. Soldiers are ready to have their long waited RandR, looking forward to the taste of cold beer and the feel of Honolulu's sun. Then suddenly the camp was bombed by large droplets of rain. Skies was filled with giant black clouds. Dark rain has fallen, all hopes were gone. A trip to the balcony with a cup of coffee on Master Yoda's wisdom cup and a little smoking stick named Marlboro. Another boring night.. will I go home after my duty? It depends...

D-Day + 18: Old Habits

Its 8 o'clock. I just used my last nicotine stick. No more coffee. Reading and reviewing our Business Process given by Kiara or jetskier. Remembered "JARHEAD", like a soldier waiting for action I was staring at the bubbles on my foxhole.

Then a familiar "kring", YM window popped up. Its my old aw2spec buddy. They just opened a new forum for all Davao car addicts, not on our old aw2spec.com domain but on a free site. The old aw2spec died cause the GLD's (good looking dudes) don't have time to maintain it. All work no play really makes GLD dull dudes. Now after a year we are reconditioning our engines to start the forum craze again.

Another escape from boredom, elpatatas is back! Is this a sign for Davao's automotive scene to boom again? Does this mean more beer, more chicks?(atik lang), and going home at 5am? Everyone come back to Davao, "bawal sablay ulit"!

D-Day + 15: Ambushed

Reporting for duty, I sat on my table and opened my drawer. Im suprised, speechless and shocked. I was ambushed and had no time to react, just gave in and smiled. I thought it would be another boring night, guess im wrong. It feels like today and Im beggining to see the sun light on my coming days. Thanks for the cup!

D-Day + 10: Soundtracks

Again its 3:00am. Nothing to do, enjoying John Ottman and Hans Zimmer's compositions. A nice way to kill time listening to Black Hawk Down and Superman OST's. Approximately 2 hours and 1 minute Ill finish the playlist and I'm flying home.

D-Day + 8: Fallen Soldier

After 6 hours of straight work, finally I had time to take a break. Went to our sleeping quarters to get a quick nap. Almost having a good dream, I heard a scream.. Paulow! call for you!! Instantly I stood up, heart beating so fast. Who wouldn't be awakened by Staff Sergeant Emma's wakeup call.

After answering the call I went back to my laptop and surfed the net. I visited Nina's blog, then I saw her latest entry. "Last day of work! adieu.." Damn, just realized people are moving away from my life. First I was moved to night shift (goodbye A Group), my "darlings" were moved back to morning duty, and now this. Gonna miss seeing Nina's comic grin everytime I go in and out of the office door. Im alone. Alone means boredom, boredom means more blog entries. Sheeesh!!!

D-Day + 7: The Longest Day

Feeling tired
By the fire
The long day is over

The wind is gone
A sleep at dawn
The embers burn on

With no reprise
The sun will rise
The long day is over

"Birds chirping, bad sign. Im heading home. By home I mean a place you go where they have to let you in."

Like a lost soldier on another country, I found myself talking to one of the locals. My Skype window poppedup, someone from Brazil wants to talk and connect with someone from the Philippines that has the same surname as his. Nothing to do, i replied to his questions.

D-Day + 4: Leave No Man Behind

Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well
Here's to the nights we felt alive
Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry
Here's to goodbye
Tomorrow's gonna come too soon

"Thanks. I was running short on platitudes. You can leave now."

D-Day + 3: Good Eye Sniper

Another threesome... Thunder, lighting and rain! I win darling. I did my rounds around 2:30am, saw that it started showering. I decided to get my camera and moved to the smokers balcony. Like a sniper on top of the French Cathedral, i locked and loaded. Not my Mosin-Nagant M91 but my digital camera, i locked it in to Manual setting. Im waiting for the lightning to strike and get a good shot of it.

I maintained my position for 20mins to get a perfect zero shot on the lightning. Unfortunately I didnt have my sniper bipad, sorry my tripod with me, the images i took where all blurry because of my unstable hands. Bormann got away this time, so no real pictures for this blog entry tonight. Another mission failed, well there is always a next time.

D-Day + 2: The Crave

Bored? Get a beer, but not during your work shift. A new lesson learned.
Drinking a sip of beer just enough to reach my stomach and mix with my acids without doing any chemical reaction is a torture. Im like a soldier on a humby waiting to go home craving for a Bigmac. The worst part is I have to wait for Saturday to get a descent bottle of beer.
She was happy, I was aching.

"Have I told you I ache, Have I told you I ache for you (beer)?"

You are one evil, cunning woman. It’s a massive turn on.

D-Day + 1.5: Bombs Away!

While looking for something to do and someone to annoy, my YM window popped up. It was my past significant someone from college. We had our hi's and kamustas. After some chat lines, we were talking about the changes in our life. One part is the music we are listening to. She likes "emo" songs, me in the other hand hates the persona that goes along with the genre.

I let her read the lyrics of the EMO SONG from Adam and Andrew. Before I knew it, she was bombing me with her words of disagreement. It was like dodging bombs and bullets during the Mogadishu war. Specially when I pasted the line " Me and my friends all look like clones, I must be eemo". I had a hard time changing the topic, I didn't know she was so into Emo. Luckily she sizzled down realizing there was no way ill be affected by her good old screams.

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend your specialty. Whooooh! What a new way to wake me up!

D-Day + 1: Realizations

Eating my tuna sandwich with hot coffee, I found myself smiling.
Another escape to boredom, Q and A portion and a nice conversation.

"Singing, I never meant to cause you trouble, I never meant to do you wrong, And I, well if I ever caused you trouble, Although I never meant to do you harm."

Its our own little secret.

I thought I would be laughing myself off my chair, turned out i was wrong. My curiosity backfired!

I was curious. Since I'm not a cat, that's not dangerous.

D-Day: Ennui Breakout

I'm writing nonsense
Trying to bring life to my senses
Eyes drooping its 3am
No ones to blame
Im growing fake plastic trees
Lethargic?
Pinch me!
